Last week, our Centre of Excellence U9 and U12 teams had the exciting opportunity to play futsal games with MK Mavericks Futsal Club. This event was a brilliant experience for our players, offering them the chance to challenge themselves in a high-energy environment while showcasing their skills. The evening was full of enthusiasm, teamwork, and plenty of joy!
This year, we introduced futsal into our programme with our foundation phase teams, and it’s already proving to be a success! Futsal, a fast-paced, small-sided game played on a hard court, is not only enjoyable but also an excellent way to develop essential skills. It emphasises ball control, quick decision-making, and accurate passing, making it an ideal complement to traditional football training.
For our U9 and U12 teams, futsal is much more than just a game – it’s an important part of their development as players. The smaller teams mean everyone gets to be involved, while the rapid transitions demand quick thinking and adaptability. These elements help to build confidence, creativity and technical ability.
A massive thank you to MK Mavericks! From start to finish, the energy on the court was sky-high. The players embraced the challenge, showing determination and enthusiasm in every match. The joy of the day was clear in the smiles and laughter of the children. The coaches were delighted to see the players applying the skills they’ve been working on.
Here’s to more exciting futsal experiences in the future!
